My name is Ms. Martinez and I am the middle school mathematics teacher and sixth grade homeroom teacher here at St. Michael’s. I started teaching at St. Michael’s in the fall of 2023 and I am excited to begin my second year in this school community. This will be my sixth year teaching in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. I previously served as a middle school humanities teacher in Mid-City, Los Angeles.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from UC Riverside and a Master of Education degree from Mount St. Mary’s University. I have a passion for learning and I hope to instill being a lifelong learner to all my students. As a math teacher my goal is to equip my students with the knowledge and confidence to think critically, solve real world problems, and apply mathematical strategies to the world around them.
As the sixth grade homeroom teacher, it is my goal to support our students entering middle school in their social-emotional, organizational, and academic skills. In our classroom, we work on improving our study habits, learning time management and organization strategies, building strong relationships with our peers, and preparing for high school and beyond. I look forward to working with more students and families here at St. Michael’s.
